Stimulating Video Shows How Today’s Women Have Broken All The Shackles To Fly High

Stimulating Video Shows How Today’s Women Have Broken All The Shackles To Fly High

BY THE INDIAN ENTERTAINER

As India has stepped forward, women have broken the shackles and crossed the lines that kept them behind the closed walls. Their foray into the world of sports has been extremely successful and exciting. This shift in the paradigm has blessed India with a Sania Mirza of tennis, a Saina Nehwal of Badminton and a Mary Kom of boxing. The reason behind these personalities becoming common household name was undoubtedly a result of their hard work and dedication, accompanied by the large-scale support of the masses.
In a similar fashion, Kabaddi as a sport has been gaining track amongst women, a sport that originally started in India is finally finding its roots back. In the past few years, India’s women Kabaddi team has displayed some exuberant performances. From 2012 to 2014 they consecutively won the Kabaddi World Cup and brought laurels for our country. All this success and achievement goes unnoticed because it lacks sufficient media coverage and there is a dearth of encouragement from us; the viewers!
Thankfully Star Sports has taken the initiative of propagating the sport and has come up with Women’s Kabaddi Challenge; we believe that this will provide a platform for all the aspiring women athletes who are yearning to make a mark in the world of Kabaddi.
Our love and support will surely encourage all the participants and history states that our soil has produced some of the most remarkable women athletes in the world. Kabaddi is our country’s legacy, let’s cheer for these young ladies aloud so that the world hears them. It is time India stands for its brave and sporty daughters.

Lost his leg and compensated finally
After losing his leg in a road accident seven years ago in 2009, youth gets compensated with over Rs 50 lakh by Thane Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT). The accident involved a truck and the two wheeler. The driver of the truck, the owner and The New India Assurance Company have been directed to jointly pay the compensation to the claimant — Santosh Prabhakar Singeri.
Santosh’s advocate Baldev B Rajput told MACT that Santosh was 13-year-old at the time of the accident. The Ulhasnagar township resident was riding the pillion of a motorbike driven by his father on November 7, 2009. A speeding truck hit them on their way. Santosh fell from the bike and the truck ran over his legs. The injury was so severe that his left leg was amputated. Since the truck driver nor the owner of the truck appeared before MACT, the decision was taken after listening to only one side. The judge opined that the applicant’s oral evidence suggests that the accident happened due to the negligence of the truck driver.  The applicant’s disability became a hurdle for him. He will be getting a compensation of Rs 50,18,979. In another judgement, the tribunal awarded Rs 9,69,334 compensation to Santosh’s father S A Singeri, who was also injured in the same accident and had lodged the claim.

The Indian Entertainer is content that compensation has been disbursed to the victims, we request the government and the judiciary to speed up the process of justice delivery so that the victims could be compensated timely and adequately.

Dwaraknath Deshmukh was an Indian Civil servant who went on to become the first Indian national to govern the RBI, he was also the third governor of RBI from the time of its institution. The RBI as we know was established by the British and governed by two Britishers before the baton was passed to an Indian. Even when Dwaraknath Deshmukh took over the reigns at the Reserve Bank of India, India was yet to attain independence.

Mr. Deshmukh overlooked some of the crucial phases of RBI’s history that included
1. Overlooking the division of assets between India and Pakistan after partition
2. Nationalizing of RBI from being a shareholder institution.
Mr. Deshmukh was the representative for India at the Breton Woods Conference which resulted in the formation of International Monetary Fund besides becoming a board of director in the IMF.

Finance Minister
His financial acumen earned the respect of Nehru, who was quick to induct him as the finance minister of post independent India. He would go on to become the founding member of National Council Of Applied Economic Research (NCAER). He had eventually resigned from the post in protest of linguistic re-organisation of states, a re-organization that would make Bombay the capital of a larger region that included non-Marathi population. Deshmukh went on to play leading roles in UGC, Delhi University and also came third in the presidential elections when contested.

The Indian Entertainer thanks Deshmukh for his pioneering contributions to India’s economy and finance.

Banking at the touch of a smartphone surely seemed to be a blessing; with almost everything depending on the Registered Mobile Number which also acted as an identity proof. But lately, this ease in banking procedures has turned to be an ease in thefts too.

What really happened?
A resident of Mumbai, a 72-year-old woman, received an SMS from her bank that 11 lakhs had been withdrawn from her bank account. Unable to put a finger on the reason for the withdrawal, she demanded a clear picture of what had happened and was astonished to know that the money withdrawn from her account had been the work of con men who had used the money to book flight tickets.

How is it done?
The theft was committed through “SIM-cloning”. Her sim had been “cloned”. SIM-cloning is a type of Cyber Crime in which the fraudsters duplicate your sim either through specialised software which contains a SIM reader, which copies all the information of a SIM card onto another. This is put to effect when you receive calls or SMSs from these fraudsters, and in a matter of minutes, your SIM has been cloned. The cloned SIM card is then used to make calls to your bank or reset your bank account details using text message verification, and money from your account can be withdrawn.

How to protect yourself from it?
Check your mobile bill frequently. In the case of any unknown numbers dialed from your phone, which you do not recognize, contact your bank immediately. If you suspect any fishy activity, then change your phone number in your bank account details. It could also be safe to use another phone number for your banking needs. Installing anti-virus software, creating complicated passwords, hiding your mobile number on social media, will all prove instrumental in avoiding such thefts. In some cases, it is also advised to avoid taking calls which begin with +92, +90, and +09.
